Due to globalisation, work flexibility, liberalisation and privatisation policies worldwide, organisations, whether public or private, now look for the best ways to reduce cost, remain efficient and profitable, while complying with statutory provisions on employment and decent work.
Human Capital Outsourcing or Third Party Support Services has become not just the path to tread in business but a strategic Management tool for achieving corporate objectives.
Initially, Human Capital Outsourcing was restricted to non-core activities such as cleaning, transport, canteen, security and clinic; it is no longer so today. Human Capital Outsourcing now encompass functions that are closer to the core, and should therefore be on the table and not under the table. Thus, the relationship between the PEAs and their Clients must be well structured so that at every point in time, the workers are seen to be engaged in decent work, in conformity with International Standards and most importantly, the National Legislation.
It is for this reason that the workshop was organised with the theme *“Statutory Responsibilities of Organisations Using the Services of 3rd Party Employers/Manpower Outsourcing Agencies in Nigeria”*
The workshop has the following objectives:
1. To foster compliance of PEAs with legal provisions for decent work.
2. To highlight the legally imposed obligations of client organisations who engage the services of Private Employment Agencies.
3. To broaden the understanding of the contributions of third party employment to decent work.
4. To emphasise on the need to monitor the activities of PEAs by client organisations.
_The workshop is packaged for HR Business Partners/Directors in charge of third party employment, HuCaPAN officials and members, PEAs not registered with HuCaPAN, Government Ministries and Departments using third party labour, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment Officials, Social Partners – Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA)._
