Webinar on Employee Compensation Act (ECA) Administration

The Employee’s Compensation Act, 2010 requires employers to make a minimum monthly contribution of 1.0% of the monthly payroll into the fund (S.33). An employer is statutorily required to report any death, injury, disease or disability arising out of or in the cause of employment to NSITF (The Board) within 7 days of its occurrence (S.5). Any false or misleading information constitutes an offence (S.65). ECA applies to all employers and employees in the public and private sectors in the Federal Republic of Nigeria (S. 2). The process has been unclear to many. As a result, PEAs are having challenges in ECA administration.

  1. Elaborate reporting procedure.
  2. Procedures for making claims.
  3. Scale of compensation.
